First Impressions matter

The band took its baby steps when founders Dustin Kensrue and Teppei Teranishi were still in high school. Quickly recruiting Eddie and Riley Breckenridge, their first gig only needed a band name to have them announced. Knowing now to how much international fame they rose, it is quite funny to think that their band name Thrice was merely an emergency solution they wanted to change afterwards – but their fan base grew so quickly and associated the talented quartet only by that name, so Thrice it was. Undaunted by the big music business, the band released its first EP, First Impressions, independently in 1999 but was soon after headhunted by a label that reissued their first songs and sent the band on tour, giving more fans the chance to get to know their hard sound and fantastically written songs. With more albums following, the band’s popularity grew, also because they proved to be very charitable, giving the profits from their albums to a range of charities over time. Fans were left devastated when the band announced a hiatus in 2011 and their loyal following couldn’t have been happier when it ended in 2015 with an image showing them working together and a brand-new album. It would have been a real shame if their unique music arrangements had come to a close already, but now they're back on tour, they’re far from done!
