About O2 Apollo Manchester - Manchester's Main Music Attraction

Known locally as simply The Apollo, Manchester's Carling O2 venue was built in 1938 originally as a cinema and variety hall. As part of the O2 Priority Rooms, a state-of-the-art digital widescreen returns the O2 Apollo Manchester to its historical roots as a cinema.

Taken on by first Carling then O2 as sponsors, the O2 Apollo Manchester attracts some of the biggest names in music and comedy. Hosting Nicki Minaj, Ed Sheerhan and Motorhead, the O2 Apollo Manchester is no stranger to talent.

In recent years, various artists have been known to play two dates in Manchester at both The Apollo and the nearby Manchester MEN Arena, to appeal to different atmospheres and audiences in the Northern city.
