The Black Crowes Biography - Brilliant Brothers Flying High
In its early days the group was heavily influenced by a combination of psychedelic pop and southern rock. As the line-up, built around brothers Chris and Rich Robinson, stabilised the band's tastes moved more towards classic rock in the same vein as The Rolling Stones. After signing to label Def American the group released debut studio album, Shake Your Money Maker, which proved to be an instant success as tracks including 'She Talks to Angels' saw the record gain multi-platinum certification - eventually selling over 3 million copies. The turn of the millennium was an eventful time for the group - between 1999 and 2001 they were joined by Jimmy Page for two pairs of shows and embarked on the Tour of Brotherly Love with fellow sibling-led band Oasis.
After a decade of hiatuses and line-up changes, the band returned to form in 2012 with a brand new tour. Known for their catchy melodies, loud guitars and frontman Chris Robinson's rocking vocals, the group have grown into one of the planet's most entertaining live acts.
