Indie rock kingpin Carl Barat has delighted his devoted fan base by announcing a 2014 tour with his latest musical side project The Jackals. Best known for being joint-frontman of legendary indie outfit The Libertines alongside his crony Pete Doherty, the Albion alchemist is celebrated for pioneering the 00s garage rock revival and will no doubt continue to trailblaze with his new music group.

The band will take to legendary venues such as King Tut's Wah Wah Hut in Glasgow and the Coventry Kasbah, performing singles like 'Glory Days' from their forthcoming 2015 album. Carl Barat and the Jackals Biography - A Decade of Indie Rock Rebellion

Coming from an unconventional, musically-minded family, this English guitar hero burst onto the music scene in the early 00s as co-frontman of garage rock group The Libertines. Famous for their hell-raising antics and for breaking down barriers between fans and the band during their epic guerrilla gigs, the band became one of the most infamous live acts of the decade. Despite the stupendous success of singles like 'Time for Heroes' and 'Can't Stand Me Now', the tempestuous relationship between Pete Doherty and Carl Barat would lead to the dissemination of the act after just two albums in 2004.

After the well-documented split of his initial outfit, Barat went on to form Dirty Pretty Things with former band mate Gary Powell. The tighter, leaner sound of mod-punk singles like 'Deadwood' sent their debut album Waterloo to Anywhere soaring to Number 3 in the UK album charts in 2006. The Libertines man recruited his latest group via Facebook, posting an advert for the position of drummer, bass player and rhythm guitarist that received over 1000 applications.
