Get ready for June 12, 2020! 24 teams will play for 4 weeks and 51 games who will become European Champion. For the first time 1 match will be played in Asia (Baku in Azerbaijan).
The European Championship this time is truly European
On the occasion of its 60th anniversary, something very special has been devised: the European Championships will indeed take place throughout Europe, not as before - in one or two European countries. It is already certain that the opening match will take place on 12 June in Rome and the final on 12 July in London at the legendary Wembley Stadion. 4 matches, including a quarter-final, will be played in Munich. Munich is the only German-speaking venue. The football matches will take place in 12 different cities, including Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Budapest, Dublin, and Bilbao.
The qualification matches for the participation in the European Championship finals are as good as finished. For the first time, 55 federations, including Kosovo, took part in the qualification. These were divided into 10 groups for the preliminary rounds: 5 groups of 5 teams each and 5 groups of 6 teams each. The two first-placed teams are automatically qualified for the final group. 4 places will then be awarded via playoffs in March.
However, it is already certain that Spain and Germany have each won the European Championships 3 times, followed by France, which has won the title 2 times and is the reigning World Champion! The current European Champion is Portugal.
