It's time to come on and feel The Lemonheads once more, as Evan Dando and the guys go back on the road to spread their feelgood indie vibes. They're one of the most beloved bands of the 90s, and The Lemonheads tickets are bound to sell out fast.

Schedule

The Lemonheads will be playing a few dates in the USA, including a residency at Pappy & Harriet's Pioneertown Palace in Pioneertown, and a single date in San Francisco. Then the guys are jumping across the pond to play a few select dates in the British Isles. The Lemonheads tickets are available for UK dates at The Institute in Digbeth, O2 ABC in Glasgow and Limelight 2 in Belfast, as well as a show at The Academy in Dublin.

Trivia

The modern version of The Lemonheads is something of a supergroup. Having promised fans a new, punkier direction, Evan Dando got together some remarkably accomplished musicians to join him and Ben Deily in the band. On guitar, there's beloved indie queen Julianna Hatfield, who became famous with her song "My Sister" around the time the original The Lemonheads were breaking. On drums, there is the beloved singer-songwriter Ryan Adams, who is still best-known in the UK for his 2001 album "Gold.

Band

The Lemonheads started out in Boston in the late 80s, with school chums Evan Dando and Ben Deily hooking up with another kid to grind out some demos. Their distinctive style -- laid-back rock with a little Beach Boys soulfulness -- earned them airplay on college radio, though Ben soon quit the band to pursue other interests. Evan Dando has been the only constant member of the team since then, with a number of musicians passing through the ranks, including Julianna Hatfield for a time in the early 90s. Ben ditched his other interests in 2012 to rejoin the band, and since then they've been reconnecting with their original sound.

Breakthrough

The band were going through some tough times in 1992, having missed the boat on grunge while Evan was recording in New Zealand. While they had a cult audience, the big-time seemed far away, but then they picked up a commission to record a cover version of the Simon & Garfunkel song "Mrs Robinson" to celebrate the video release of "The Graduate." Evan didn't like the song or Simon & Garfunkel. However, listeners loved their version, and the single soon became a worldwide smash hit, catapulting the band into the big time.

Hit Albums

The 90s saw The Lemonheads release a trio of essential albums. "It's A Shame About Ray" carried the cover of "Mrs Robinson" as a bonus track, but the rest of the album proved to critics that Evan and the guys were the real deal. 1996's "Car Button Cloth" was one of their most ambitious albums, with an epic sound that culminated in hit single "If I Could Talk I'd Tell You." But their key album is probably the middle one. "Come On Feel The Lemonheads" was beloved by fans and critics, and contained a song that would be played on college radio and covered at open-mic nights for decades to come: "Into Your Arms.

Show Experience

Even if you've been faithfully attending The Lemonheads shows since the days of "It's A Shame About Ray," you might be surprised by what you see this time. The band has gone back to their early grunge roots and created a loud, thrashing, intense show that'll have you sweating. Expect to hear old favourites and new cuts, all fired off with an old school intensity. And if you've never heard Ryan Adams drumming before, you're in for a treat.
