Oozing girlish charm, this pretty pop star didn�t start out as queen of the dance floor. Originally arriving on the scene in the late nineties as the lead singer for successful Britpop band The Audience. Her first foray into the live music scene was a far cry from her glamorous status as a Strictly finalist today. Following the group�s break-up, Sophie almost made her d�but on the silver screen in the title role of Satine in Baz Luhrmann's blockbuster musical but chose to focus on her music career instead.
Her successful solo career began with debut album Read My Lips (2001), which reached Number 2 in the charts and delighted audiences with her insatiably catchy dance-pop sound. Her next three releases, Shoot from the Hip (2003), Trip the Light Fantastic (2007) and Make a Scene (2011) continued to cement her position as the UK�s electro-pop princess. Alongside marrying The Feeling bassist Richard Jones and raising three children, the unstoppable songstress has continued climbing charts, having more recently released fifth album Wanderlust at the beginning of 2014. The record marked a departure from her usual sound, reflecting her decision to go independent and collaborate with Ed Harcourt to produce nostalgic folk-tinged pop, drawing on her experiences in Eastern Europe.
