Seether Biography - A Platinum-Selling 'Remedy'
Formed in 1999, the band originated from Pretoria where they were initially known by another name, Saron Gas. They started out appearing at nightclubs and university venues before releasing their debut album Fragile and changing their name to the moniker fans know and love today. Their talent was recognised after being chosen to support Evanescence in 2002 which would lead to collaboration between the band and Amy Lee on their breakthrough single 'Broken', which was featured on the soundtrack to hit 2004 film The Punisher.
2005 album Karma and Effect brought further success by debuting at Number 8 on the US Billboard 200 and being certified gold in the US whilst lead single 'Remedy' gave the band their first Number One. The group won the award for Best Alternative Artist at the MTV Africa Music Awards in 2008. Since then the band have produced a multi-platinum selling album and completed a stint on the Ozzfest tour. Their status within the scene has since been cemented with tours alongside Breaking Benjamin, Three Days Grace and Papa Roach.
