From chart success to the big stage

   For the first eight years, they were known simply as Rüfüs. What was the reason given for the name change? They just thought that there were no other bands that had gone by two names and wanted to be different. It’s a small thing to note, but one that sums up the eccentricity and unique-ness that sets them apart from most electronic acts. After forming in Sydney in 2010, it didn’t take long for the band to achieve critical acclaim. Their first two EPs made waves in the electronic music scene, but it was their first album in 2013, Atlas, which saw their popularity skyrocket. It reached number 1 on the Australian album charts, and in the following year, their next album, Bloom, debuted at the top of the charts. The perfect amalgamation of live band and electronic music

   The founding members were Tyrone Lindqvist (guitar and vocals), James Hunt (drums), and Jon George (keyboards), and between them, they have created music that has packed dancefloors for years and won many Gold and Platinum certifications. They’ve received several awards, including the ARIA Award for Best Dance Release and the Electronic Music Award for Live Act of the Year, the latter being a particularly strong endorsement of their outstanding concerts.
