Robbie Williams Biography - The Voice Of 'Angels' Returns
Back in 1995, this Stoke-on-Trent-born singer broke hearts by leaving Take That - incredibly forcing the UK government to set up a telephone helpline to console distraught fans. However, little did his fans know that he'd go on to have such a stellar solo career. Debut solo album Life Thru a Lens was unleashed in 1997 and proved a slow burner - taking its time to resonate with fans but eventually selling millions. It still set the stage for his spectacular follow-up, I've Been Expecting You. Hits such as 'Angels', 'Feel', 'Supreme' and 'She's the One' arguably eclipsed his role in the seminal boyband, though he still honoured his heritage by reuniting with Take That in 2010.
2012 saw him return to his solo career with the album Take the Crown, featuring the smash hit single 'Candy'. He released compilation albums Swings Both Ways and Under the Radar Volume 1 soon after, the former bagging him his 11th number one album. Now he's back in 2016 with the swinging Heavy Entertainment Show, getting fans up and down the country all hot and bothered with his cheeky new single 'Party Like a Russian'.
