After a brief hiatus Pulp return to the forefront of British music with lashings of art-school attitude, as a glam rock incarnation of high-brow new-wave indie.

Pulp Biography - Independently Successful

Forming in Sheffield when Jarvis Cocker and band-mate Peter Dalton were just 15, Pulp enjoyed a period of musical exploration in the eighties, heavily inspired by legend John Peel's eclectic taste. Sending a mixtape to the iconic DJ, Pulp granted a Peel Session to kick off their career into mainstream music, now Pulp the band feature as a typical name on any 1990's indie compilation album.

Of the many obscure Pulp albums released at the start of their career A Different Class and His 'n' Hers hit the mainstream, including singles 'Common People', 'Disco 2000' and 'Babies' in the Pulp discography. Infamously pulling down his trousers during Michael Jackson's BRIT Awards performance in 1996 - front-man Jarvis Cocker's reputation often precedes Pulp live appearances. It is this anti-establishment attitude coupled with middle-class 'kitchen sink drama' that encapsulates the sound of the Pulp UK tour even today.
