Ocean Colour Scene - 20 Years of Moseley Shoals

Simon Fowler, Steve Cradock, Oscar Harrison and Andy Bennett came together after two local bands, The Boys and Fanatics disbanded in 1990. The early years proved a struggle, with their debut album failing to fully reflect their authentic sound, but things soon started to turn around. Paul Weller, a leader of the Britpop movement, invited the band to support him on tour and the rest was history. After another series of gigs opening for Oasis, they released Moseley Shoals in 1996, which would give them their first top five hit in the album charts. It wasn't long until they were knocking their old tour buddies Oasis off the top of the charts, with follow-up album Marchin' Already went straight to number one in 1997.

One from the Modern was a similar success story in 1999, giving the band another top five hit and spawning singles 'So Low' and 'Profit in Peace'. Continuing into the early '00s, the quartet continued their trend of releasing a new record every two years with Mechanical Wonder in 2001, North Atlantic Drift in 2003, A Hyperactive Workout for the Flying Squad in 2005 and On the Leyline in 2007. 2010 album Saturday contained the critically acclaimed single 'Old Pair of Jeans' and the following year saw the band release a 15th anniversary edition of their 1996 breakthrough record. The band make their return to the spotlight in 2016 in support of their last release, Painting, with three exclusive shows planned to celebrate 20 years since they hit the big time.
