Wowing audiences since 1989
Lightning Seeds were first established in 1989 by producer, guitarist, and lead vocalist of the group, Ian Broudie. It started off as a solo project for Broudie, based primarily in the studio. However, following the release of Jollification, Lightning Seeds expanded into a touring band and have never looked back since. In the years between 1994 and 1998, they toured all around the UK, including headlining the Hillsborough Justice Concert in 1997. This was held at Liverpool’s football ground, Anfield Stadium, in order to raise funds for the families that had been impacted by the Hillsborough disaster.
After this period, they released a dance-orientated album called Tilt, which featured collaborations with Stephen Jones, and DJ Chris Moyles lauded their single Life’s Too Short as one of their best songs to date. The band then went on hiatus, although The Very Best of the Lightning Seeds was released in 2006. Since then, they have been involved in a number of significant performances. This includes supporting Madness on their British pre-Christmas arena tour in 2016.
