The band that spawned Guns N' Roses

Formed in 1983, the original L.A. Guns line-up consisted of Tracii Guns on guitar, Rob Gardner on drums, Ole Beich on bass and Mike Jagosz on lead vocals. After dropping their first EP, the latter was replaced by Hollywood Rose frontman, Axl Rose, whose two groups later came together to form the hugely successful Guns N' Roses. In 1985, Tracii Guns revived L.A. Guns with a brand-new line-up and three years later, they released their eponymous debut album. 1989 sophomore ‘Cocked and Loaded' spawned a US Top 40 single in the shape of ‘The Ballad of Jayne', while 1991's third LP, ‘Hollywood Vampires', became their third consecutive Top 50 entry on the Billboard 200. The musician merry-go-round continued throughout the decade, and in 2002, founding member Guns departed to join Mötley Crüe's Nikki Sixx in supergroup Brides of Destruction. However, four years later, he formed another eponymous band that later changed their moniker to L.A. Guns, meaning that there were two same-named hair metal groups on the touring circuit, with ex-W.A.S.P. drummer Steve Riley fronting the other. Ever-changing eyeliner-wearing rockers

No matter their ever-changing line-up, L.A. Guns have remained one of the most entertaining hair metal bands on the live stage since the mid-1980s. Fans of the leather-clad, eyeliner-wearing rockers should expect to hear plenty of the songs that launched them to fame during Sunset Strip's heyday. These include debut single ‘Electric Gypsy', US Hot 100 hits ‘The Ballad of Jayne' and ‘It's Over Now' and fan favourites ‘Rip and Tear', ‘Never Enough' and ‘I Wanna Be Your Man'. But having released no less than six studio efforts since the turn of the century, the band are also keen to prove that their more contemporary material still packs a punch, with tracks such as ‘Rage', ‘Speed' and ‘The Flood's the Fault of the Rain' making regular appearances in their set lists.
