Born in 1977 in Mechanicsville, Virginia, this world-class musician first made his name slogging it on the San Diego coffee house gig scene in the early 2000s. His first album, 2002's Waiting For My Rocket To Come, followed in 2002, with his breakthrough aided by the success of early single 'The Remedy (I Won't Worry)'. Showcasing an earnest yet forceful trademark sound, it propelled him on to release second album Mr. A-Z in 2005. The album made him a worldwide star and a modern American icon, a position that was consolidated with 2008's We Sing. We Dance. We Steal Things, which featured the smash hit 'I'm Yours'. Scooping up two Grammy Awards on the way, he's most recently returned in 2014 with his fifth album Yes!, arguably his finest yet.
