Proving that TV talent shows can still unearth true stars, Middlesbrough musician James Arthur built on his X Factor victory in 2012, going from an unknown, unsigned singer to scoring a UK number one with Shontelle cover "Impossible". Following up on his success with a top 10 album, James Arthur's fan base has skyrocketed since. After a run of controversies, he was dropped from his record deal and his career seemed all but over. However, as the title of his 2016 album suggests, he's Back From The Edge, re-signing with Simon Cowell's Syco Records and releasing number one smash "Say You Won't Let Go".
Arthur continued his comeback in 2017 by collaborating with Machine Gun Kelly on the song "Go for Broke" before featuring as one of the vocalists on a cover of Simon & Garfunkel's "Bridge Over Troubled Water" to raise funds for those affected by the Grenfell Tower fire. He then appeared as a guest vocalist on drum n bass act Rudimental's single "Sun Comes Up" and performed the song with the group at 2017's V Festival.
After touring the US and Canada with OneRepublic and Fitz and the Tantrums – as well as performing with Kelly Clarkson at Fresh 102.7's Fall Fest at The Theater at Madison Square Garden, New York – James Arthur returns home to the UK this November to perform a series of concerts.

James Arthur: singer negotiates bumpy road to make successful 2017 comeback
From the age of 15, budding singer-songwriter James Arthur had his heart set on a career in music, recording songs both as a solo artist and as a member of four different bands. His personal path to success hasn't always been trouble-free: at 16, he left home and found himself sleeping rough. But he bravely battled through this tough time with his guitar as his constant companion, and a dogged belief in his own talent led him to apply for the ninth series of the UK X Factor. His debut single, "Impossible", took the coveted Christmas Number One spot in 2012, while his self-titled debut album peaked at Number 2 the following year.
