Born in Hawaii to a well-known surfer father, relaxed beach vibes were in this singer-songwriter's blood from the start. His first career was as a pro-surfer himself, but an injury saw him turn to music, getting his break writing and singing on G Love's 1999 song 'Rodeo Clowns'. The song led to a deal of his own, and his debut album 'Brushfire Fairytales' came out in 2001 and made him an international star. 2003's 'On and On' followed, cementing his reputation as one of the most talented songwriters of his generation.
Five albums have followed, but he's not been limited to music, working on films such as 2002's 'The September Sessions', which he directed. But on stage is where he truly flies, with his 2013 album 'From Here to you Now' showing he's in the form of his life.
