Faithless Biography - Maxi Jazz's Dance Gods
Since forming in London in 1995, these electro kings have made it their mission to reshape the face of dance in their own image. Led by shamanic singer Maxi Jazz and completed by beat makers Rollo and Sister Bliss and early member Jamie Catto, their debut album Reverance was a trance-fuelled piece of genius, and was followed up by the equally as amazing Sunday in 1998. However, it wasn't until 2001 that they would release their ultimate masterpiece Outrospective, spawning huge singles such as 'We Come 1' and 'One Step Too Far'. In the years since they've become mainstays at both dance-orientated events and the main stages at festivals such as Glastonbury.
Consolidating their status with mid-'00s LPs Roots and To All New Arrivals, they said eventually said farewell to fans after releasing 2010's The Dance. However, within a few years they'd caught the live music bug again and now play stripped-down DJ sets under the name Faitheless Soundsystem.
