Diana Krall: two-and-a-half decades of jazz
Born in British Columbia in 1964, singer-songwriter Diana Krall burst onto the music scene in 1993 with her stunning debut album Stepping Out. Showcasing a unique blend of jazz and contralto vocals, it was followed-up by Only Trust Your Heart in 1995. She honoured her beloved Nat King Cole with third album All For You: A Dedication to the Nat King Cole Trio, bagging her first Grammy nomination, with the following album Love Scenes (1997) making her a global star.
She collaborated with the legend Tony Bennett and joined him on tour, as well as turning her hand to production – working on Barbra Streisand's album Love is the Answer. Such was her status in 2012 that she was asked to perform "Fly Me To The Moon" at a memorial service for Neil Armstrong, the first man on the moon. Twelfth album Wallflower (2015) featured 12 cover songs and included collaborations with Michael Buble and Bryan Adams, while 2017's Turn Up the Quiet received some of the best critical reviews of Krall's career so far.
