TRNSMT 2018: Liam Gallagher, Arctic Monkeys and Wolf Alice to play Glasgow festival

Taking the place of the troubled T in the Park in 2017, TRNSMT festival's inaugural year was a huge success. Hosting the likes of Belle & Sebastian, Biffy Clyro, Kasabian, London Grammar, Radiohead and The 1975 on Glasgow Green, the event was well-organised, the 120,000-strong crowds well behaved, and even the weather seemed to be on side.

After such a smooth first year, TRNSMT has been extended to take place across two weekends in 2018 and will be headlined by the likes of Liam Gallagher, The Script, Stereophonics, The Killers and the Arctic Monkeys. TRNSMT Festival: future looks bright for new festival

After logistical problems and troubling reports of crime and disorder led organisers to put T in the Park on an indefinite hiatus, an alternative (not necessarily a replacement) was needed to fill a festival-shaped hole. 

TRNSMT duly obliged. A non-camping, slimmed down event (but with the same class of headliners) TRNSMT was given rave reviews by both critics and festival attendees in 2017 and, with the future of T in the Park still uncertain, looks set to continue long into the future. 

Geoff Ellis, Head of DF Concerts, said: "We’re absolutely thrilled to announce TRNSMT 2018’s line-up – all four bands are testament to the brilliant British music scene right now and will offer an amazing day of music for TRNSMT fans on 30 June.

"It’s set to be a brilliant summer of music. We’re bringing some of the best world-class artists to Glasgow Green, with many more exciting announcements still to come. TRNSMT’s outstanding audience in July this year showed the world why TRNSMT should be central to the festival music calendar.
