Innovative indie-popsters The xx continued their quiet revolution with yet more minimalist in 2017. Following from the success of their 2012 sophomore effort, Coexist, the band returned to critical acclaim in January with third album I See You.

Alumni of London's Elliot School – the birthplace of a number of other brilliant artists including Burial and Hot Chip – the band was formed by Oliver Sim and Romy Madley-Croft, when they were just 15-years-old. Guitarist Baria Qureshi joined in 2005, when the group began to play live, but left the band in 2009.

Hyped-up due to its adept mix of urban and indie influences, The xx's self-titled debut left critics speechless, as they zoomed towards their mainstream breakthrough moment: winning the 2010 Mercury Prize. Refusing to rest on their laurels, the threesome has since returned with chart-topping follow-up Coexist in 2012, evolving their minimalist aesthetic and growing their fan base ever-further.
