To celebrate the release of their 11th studio album Foreverland, Neil Hannon and band embark on a full UK tour in September 2016, including two dates at the London Palladium. The group first came to fame in the late '90s with their unique chamber pop sound and are best known for top ten hit 'National Express'. Singer Hannon remains the only consistent member but if the impressive single 'Catherine the Great' is anything to go by, he's lost none of his magic. The Divine Comedy Biography - 2016 Album Foreverland
Formed in 1989, this Northern Irish group grafted their way to success - it was only upon the release of third album Casanova that they unearthed the sound that made them a mainstream hit. Building on the success of the Britpop movement and the popularity of bands like Pulp, tracks like 'Becoming More Like Alfie' and 'Something for the Weekend' received significant airplay on the radio. Hannon quickly became a magazine and newspaper favourite and this opened up opportunities for bigger and better tours - including a performance at London's Shepherds Bush Empire alongside a 30-piece orchestra. A Short Album About Love followed in 1997 and was their strongest selling record to date, before the singer branched out, supplying additional vocals to fellow artists' tracks like Tom Jones' 'Reload'.
To commemorate a decade in the industry in 1999, they brought out compilation record A Secret History, touring their greatest hits across the country. After the success of Regeneration two years later though, Neil Hannon elected to go solo, teaming up with old friend Jody Talbot for the Absent Friends LP. He then went on to contribute material to the soundtrack for blockbuster movie The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and TV series Doctor Who, before returning to the charts under his old band name with Bang Goes the Knighthood in 2010. Back with his incredible 11th LP Foreverland in 2016, the critically acclaimed musician heads out on tour once again in 2016.
