T-Pain Biography - A Time of Change for Rap's Finest
Born Faheem Rasheed Najm in Tallahassee, Florida in 1985, this multi-talented rapper, singer, songwriter, producer and actor started his musical career in rap group Nappy Headz in 2004 before releasing his own debut album, Rappa Ternt Sanga, a year later. He experienced moderate success with it, but his second album, 2007's Epiphany, made him a star. Propelled by the single 'Buy U a Drank (Shawty Snappin')', it became a US number one and paved the way for him to collaborate with the likes of R Kelly, Chris Brown and Bow Wow - in fact in 2007 he appeared on four top ten US singles within two weeks. His third album Thr33 Ringz came out in 2008, enjoying further success and allowing him to move on further with 2011's Revolver.
Going from strength to strength, in 2014 he returned once more and announced that fifth album Stoicville: The Phoenix, would see him embrace a totally new direction.
