Skrillex Biography - Genre Mashing Superstar

Known to his family and friends as Sonny Moore, this L.A electro artist started out as the frontman of post-hardcore band From First to Last, famous for impassioned hits like 'Note to Self'. The emo outfit split in 2007, leaving Moore to focus on his career as a soloist, moving away from his hardcore roots by promoting his floor fillers on social networking site Myspace. Soon enough, he rebranded under his current moniker and set up camp in the studio, releasing his first ever EP My Name is Skrillex as a free download in 2010. An instant underground hit, it led to mainstream fame when he was commissioned to remix famous singles like Lady Gaga's 'Bad Romance' and La Roux's 'In For The Kill'.

Since then, he has been busy donating new sound samples to old-school electro acts like Chemical Brothers and Fatboy Slim, finally making his mark as one of the hottest new dubstep producers in 2010 with his third EP Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites.
