Motley Crue Biography - Iconic Glam Metal
Drummer Tommy Lee and bassist Nikki Sixx originally started this esteemed band as a duo in 1981 before enlisting the instrumental skill of Mick Mars and the charismatic vocalist Vince Neil. They released their debut single 'Stick to Your Guns/Toast of the Town' on their own label before tasting international fame on their 'Cruesing Through Canada Tour' - when a number of scandals attracted the attention of the wider public. The band spent much of the late '80s battling personal issues linked to their legendary excess, with many of their less savoury experiences influencing their music, most notably the track 'Kickstart my Heart'.
Following their waning popularity in the '90s, the group returned to form following pleas from their fans in 2004. Now, the band are back where the belong at the top of rock festival bills, including appearances at Download, Ozzfest and Sonisphere.
