Formed in 2013 by Parisians Laura Cox and Mathieu Albiac, the Laura Cox Band has been sending shockwaves around the world with their unique blend of rock. Heavily musically influenced as a child by her British father, Laura Cox first picked up a guitar at the age of 14, a classical number gifted by her aunt. Progression to an acoustic swiftly followed and after discovering the work of bands such as Guns N’ Roses and Dire Straits, her mother bought the budding rocker a Squier Showmaster as her first electric guitar and she hasn’t looked back since! Meeting fellow guitarist Mathieu was crucial to the development of the shy Laura’s stage career and he encouraged her to perform for live audiences. Initially forming as a two-piece, they released their debut single entitled "Cowboys & Beer", penned jointly by the pair. The success of the single led them to perform at music festivals, sharing the line-up with acts including Simple Minds and performer Boy George.
