Formed in Birmingham in 1969 and named after a Bob Dylan song, the aptly nicknamed 'Metal Gods' reflects the role Judas Priest has played in shaping the hard rock and heavy metal scene. Hard hitting, Judas Priest albums of the '70s include Sad Wings of Destiny, Sin After Sin and Stained Class, described as 'pure metal' by fans and critics alike. Similar to the bands Iron Maiden, Megadeath and Motorhead, Judas Priest enjoyed their heyday of mainstream commercial success in the '80s.

With a revolving line-up of drummers, today's core Judas Priest members include guitarists Glenn Tipton and Richie Faulkner, Scott Travis on drums, plus bassist Ian Hill.
