Gabrielle Aplin - 'Power of Love' Singer Releases Second Album

This British singer-songwriter first came to the attention of the music world with YouTube covers of popular songs like Katy Perry's 'Teenage Dream' and 'Forget You' by Cee Lo Green. It was in December of 2012 however that she became a national star with a cover of Frankie Goes to Hollywood's 'The Power of Love' that featured on the John Lewis Christmas TV advert. This number one hit was shortly followed by 'Please Don’t Say You Love Me' which would see similar success before her debut album English Rain came out in mid-2013, peaking at number two in the UK album charts. More recently the singer has released her second record Light Up the Dark and is preparing for live shows in October and throughout January and February 2016. Gabrielle Aplin Biography - Talented Solo Singer Songwriter

The talented singer was brought up in a small village near Chippenham and was bought her first guitar at the age of 11. Throughout her teenage years she found herself influenced by the likes of Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen and began creating covers of her favourite songs, posting the results on her YouTube channel. As her fan base rapidly grew, she began to appear on local radio stations and released a five-track acoustic EP which landed in the top 25 of the iTunes album charts.

By early February 2012 she had signed with Parlophone records and began working on her debut album. The same year saw her voice the John Lewis Christmas advert, with a cover of Frankie Goes to Hollywood's 'The Power of Love'. In May 2013 the star released her debut album English Rain which charted at number two in the UK. She also launched her own record label, Never Fade Records to support independent artists, such as 21-year-old jazz singer Hannah Grace. In May 2015 she announced her second album Light Up the Dark which was officially released on the 18th of September to great critical feedback.
