Excision tickets
Excision is one of the founding fathers of Canada's dubstep scene, known for his beefy bass lines and fast, furious rhythms. The Kelowna, British Columbia-born DJ and producer -- real name Jeff Abel -- fuses snares and 2-step beats to create a rich tapestry of sounds. Excision tickets are popular with dance music fans who want an energetic, euphoric live experience.
Excision's background
Excision didn't always want to be a superstar DJ. As a child, he dreamed of becoming a paleontologist. At some point, he changed his mind and forged a career in the world of electronic music.
In 2007, Excision released his debut single, "No Escape," on his label, Rottun Recordings. Influenced by a broad range of genres -- metal, electro, drum and bass, etc. -- his music has now become the soundtrack for bassheads worldwide. Thumping, throbbing beats are his signature.
The DJ is also famous for his live shows, which feature state-of-the-art sound and lights. In 2012, he started the "X Tour" alongside fellow musicians Liquid Stranger and Lucky Date. At the 2013 Boom Festival, Excision revealed a 250,00-watt sound system. This new technology made his live sets the hottest ticket in town. Excision also has creative control over the visuals at his shows.
Excision's history
Excision released his debut album, X Rated, in 2011. It includes the tracks "Ohhh Nooo," "Execute" and "Jaguar," the latter a collaboration with British singer-songwriter Mr Hudson. The album was a critical success, with reviewers championing its intricate production.
Codename X, Excision's sophomore effort, dropped in 2015. The album features the tracks "Shadowflame," "Live Wire" and "Float Away." Excision experienced his biggest commercial success to date with the 11-track set: it peaked at No. 3 on Billboard's Dance/Electronic Albums Chart and No. 26 on Billboard's Independent Albums Chart.
Excision's third studio album, Virus, was released in 2016. It includes the track "The Paradox," which has garnered over 400,000 views on YouTube. Other songs on the set include "Rave Thing" and "Generator." Virus peaked at No. 2 on Billboard's Dance/Electronic Albums Chart and No. 26 on Billboard's Independent Albums Chart. With 16 tracks, the album is Excision's lengthiest to date.
As well as his studio albums and live shows, Excision is also known in the dance community for his annual mixtape, Shambhala. Every fall, the DJ releases an hour-long mix featuring the freshest dubstep tracks. This yearly release has become something of an institution among fans of the genre.
Excision has released various EPs. These include Excision & Datsik Remixed and Heavy Artillery / Reploid (Remixes). He has also collaborated with artists like Dion Timmer, Tech N9ne and Pegboard Nerds.
