Dub FX is a versatile street performer with an affinity for beatboxing, dubstep, hip hop and reggae. He uses layering to great effect, creating intricate melodies and catchy beats for his dedicated fans.

Although he occasionally records tracks, Dub FX mostly enjoys performing live on the street and at nightclubs, festivals and other venues. After appearing at The Globe Live Music Festival in Cardiff, he will move on to The Watering Hole in Perranporth.

Trivia

When performing, Dub FX refers to his fiance as Flower Fairy. A talented artist in her own right, Flower Fairy accompanies Dub FX on tracks such as "Time Will Tell" and "Wandering Love." When she's not singing alongside her fiance, Flower Fairy sells CDs and other merchandise at his performances. Dub FX also has a long wish list of producers with which he'd like to collaborate on a remix of his music. This list includes the likes of Freq Nasty, Spoonbill and Thievery Corporation, among others.

Artist

Benjamin Stanford, or, as he is better known, Dub FX, is a street performer specialising in dubstep, hip hop and beatboxing. His gritty, yet upbeat sound immediately catches the attention of those passing by on the streets where he performs. Although the bulk of the focus at his performances is on the beat and any accompanying musical effects, he also enjoys exploring a variety of current political issues in his lyrics, including social mobility and the potential for revolution. His favoured instrumental equipment includes a Boss GT-10B Bass guitar effects pedal, as well as the DR-880 Rhythm Machine.

Breakthrough

Largely unknown in his native country of Australia, Dub FX has made a name for himself on the streets of Europe and in the world of social media. His breakthrough arguably accompanied the release of "Love Someone" on YouTube. This video thoroughly documented the effort that goes into the creation of a typical Dub FX track, with the artist showing fans how he records a base loop and then adding rap and various musical effects on top of it. "Love Someone" quickly went viral, paving the way for "Everythinks A Ripple," Dub FX's first studio album. From there, he continued to take advantage of social media, using YouTube, Facebook and SoundCloud to promote his growing body of work.

Hit Albums

For the first several years of his career as a street performer, Dub FX avoided recordings, instead preferring to save his work for those willing to invest in Dub FX tickets. Since then, he has branched out, first releasing a collection of live performances before recording his debut studio album "Everythinks A Ripple." He followed this popular album with "Crossroads," a collaboration with Sirius. He then returned to his preferred solo status to release "Theory Of Harmony," a release made possible by pledges from the hundreds of thousands of fans he's amassed on Facebook.
