Daniel Caesar’s rise to fame
The young Canadian singer, who was born in 1995 as Ashton Simmonds, first came to public attention with the release of his successful EPs, "Praise Break" in 2014 and "Pilgrim’s Paradise" in 2015. His debut single, "Get You", was released the following year, getting over ten million streams on Apple Music alone. The buzz around him was such that in 2017, only three years after he first released his music online, he released his album, "Freudian", which won him the Grammy for "Best R&B Performance" for the song "Best Part". He was also nominated for "Best R&B Album". Caesar’s second album was released in 2019, with collaborations with John Mayer, Pharrell Williams and Brandy.
