Band of Skulls Biography - Intense Rock Sound Heading Your Way
This hyped London rock act first tasted fame under the name of Fleeing New York in the mid-2000s before switching to their current moniker in 2008. Made up of drummer Matt Hayward, Russell Marsden on vocals/guitar and Emma Richardson on bass, the trio carved out a niche in the London club scene promoting their original demos (recorded in a garden shed). The band released debut album Baby Darling Doll Face Honey in 2009 and single 'I Know What I Am' was selected as the iTunes free single of the week, as well as becoming the feature track for hit TV series Friday Night Lights. The group also hit Hollywood when single'Friends' was included in the soundtrack for The Twilight Saga: New Moon film.
Boasting of a highly original style and a wealth of killer hooks, the band has become a cult hit across the UK. Sophomore record Sweet Sour soared into the UKTop 20 as a result and featured slower more melodic tracks such as 'The Devil Takes Care of His Own'. Now a firm festival favourite with UK rock 'n' roll fans, their ever expanding fan base are sure to clamour for tickets to their upcoming UK tour - especially since the release of 2014 album Himalayan.
