Originally the side project of Pete Doherty, the frontman left in The Libertines to focus fully on his second burgeoning band in 2004. The energetic band recorded a string of impressive indie anthems, crammed full of antagonistic word play and Doherty's signature romantic verse. 'Killamangiro' became their Number 8 breakthrough hit and the 'Shambles were soon in the studio recording debut album Down In Albion with legendary Clash guitarist Mick Jones. The record proved to be a commercial success, spawning classics like allegorical anthem 'Albion' and paving the way for high profile slots at festivals including Glastonbury and T in the Park. 2007 follow-up album Shotter's Nation gave birth to further melancholic sing-along indie anthems 'Delivery', 'You Talk' and 'French Dog Blues', soaring into NME's Top 20 Albums of the Year.
After years off the radar, Doherty and his group sustained a successful comeback in 2013 with the help of newly recruited Stereophonics drummer Jamie Morrison.
