Formed in 1987, Autechre are living legends within the world of Electronic Dance Music. They are commonly credited with creating the subgenre of IDM, or Intelligent Dance Music, although their music has incorporated influences like techno, rock, hip-hop and house. They continue to write new material and perform to packed houses.
Autechre tickets are available for upcoming shows all over the world. They will be hitting the summer festival circuit and will also be performing upcoming club dates in both Europe and the United States. They'll be performing at the Dour Festival in Dour, Belgium, Melt! Festival in Gräfenhainichen, Germany, Decibel Festival in Seattle, Washington and Tauron Festival in Katowice, Poland. They'll also be performing across North America at venues including The Imperial in Vancouver, Metro in Chicago and Holocene in Portland.
Autechre are famed for their wide mix of gear, including numerous digital synthesisers and rare analog models. The Roland TR-606, Elektron Machinedrum and Akai MPC are their three go-to drum machines, while they frequently use the rare Elektron Monomachine as an analog synthesiser and the Roland MC-202 as a sequencer. They use Digital Performer and Max/MSP software to develop new work, and put great thought into creating unique digital interfaces for live performances.
Autechre consists of Sean Anthony Booth and Robert John Brown, who met in their hometown of Rochdale, Greater Manchester. They are closely associated with Warp Records as well as the popular rise of Electronic Dance Music during the '90s. Their complex dance music features a wide range of samples and synthesised sounds and their tracks often eschew standard songwriting conventions in favour of unusual structures and unexpected breaks. In addition to their original work, Autechre have a dual reputation as recording artists and radio DJs, and are known for their day-long live DJ mixes simultaneously streamed as webcasts.
Autechre's first major label release with Warp Records, 1993's "Incunabula," immediately established their reputation as a highly original addition to the burgeoning EDM scene. The album is often compared to the work of Aphex Twin and Cabaret Voltaire, but it impressed critics as being equally capable of club play, with plenty of danceable tracks. The album led to Autechre being a sought-after starring act for Europe's summer music festival circuit.
Autechre has maintained a lengthy and symbiotic relationship with Warp Records, releasing over ten albums on the prestigious label. Their notable albums include 2003's "Draft 7.30," 2008's "Quaristice, and 1997's "Chiastic Slide." All their albums are also available on vinyl.
Whether playing a major festival stage, DJing at a dance club, or performing at a rock venue, Autechre can win over any crowd. Their live performances are notable for their complexity, as both performers use a mix of analog synthesisers, samplers and digital interfaces controlling complex music software on their laptops. Their shows generally feature synchronised lighting and enthusiastic dancing crowds. Autechre tickets guarantee an experience that will both have the audience moving and revelling in the group's electronic artistry.
