Years & Years: leading the way in electro pop

Coming together in 2010, Years & Years began when Emre Turkmen met Mikey Goldsworthy online after he moved to London from Australia. Goldsworthy later heard Olly Alexander singing and asked him to join the group as frontman. Originally a five piece, the group released their first single "I Wish I Knew" in 2012 to limited success. A year later, after working on new material and becoming a three piece the group were back and signed with French label Kitsune Records. They released "Traps" the same year and began to build a following across social media.

Their real break came upon signing with Polydor Records and releasing fourth single "Take Shelter". The track was an instant hit, reaching number one on the iTunes electronic chart, swiftly followed by "Desire" and "King", which became their biggest track to date, hitting the number one spot in the UK singles chart. It was Zane Lowe's hottest record of the day and contributed to the group winning the prestigious BBC Sound of 2015. The number ones continued with debut album Communion, which hit the airwaves in July 2015. Second album Palo Santo follows in 2018 and, by popular demand, the band will be back to tour the UK this year.
