The Lemon Twigs - rock stars from another era

As sons of the 1970s pop songwriter and musician Ronnie D'Addario, the multi-instrumentalists and singer songwriters, Brian and Michael D'Addario, were always destined to make waves on the music scene. Their unique sound updates the classic rock sound of the '60s and '70s, citing influences that include The Beach Boys, The Beatles, Wings, Ramones and Supertramp. The Guardian described the band as having "sumptuous harmonies" and the Times said they have the "underground cool of Big Star and the Ramones". The duo also counts a wide variety of high-profile artists as fans of their work including Elton John, Laura Marling and Boy George to name but a few. In 2016, they released their first album, Do Hollywood, where each brother took the lead on guitar and vocals on the songs they each composed. Their follow up album, Go to School was released in 2018 to critical acclaim.

The band's founding and leading members and brothers, Brian and Michael D'Addario. grew up on Long Island, New York and between them play several different instruments including guitar, bass, keyboards, drums, percussion, trumpet and violin. Raised by musical parents, a love of theatre, music and performing arts can be seen influencing their style of conceptualised music on albums such as Go to School, which is an eccentric musical about a chimpanzee raised by human parents.
