Two-thirds of the group, Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso, met at school, while Axel 'Axwell' Christofer Hedfors was added to the line-up after meeting the duo on the DJ circuit in the mid-'00s. Within a few short years they had made a name for themselves in the continent's supper clubs, playing a notable breakout performance at Ibiza's Cream Amnesia in 2008, which helped them land a record deal with EMI and eventually Polydor.
After various independent releases, 2010 saw them score their first major chart hit, 'On E', a collaboration with Pharrell Williams. This paved the way for the threesome's debut album Until One, which hit Number Two on the charts, a feat bettered by the follow-up Until Now. Regularly collaborating with the great and the good of the music world, from Tinie Tempah to John Martin, the group are famed for reinvigorating the public's thirst for house music. Able to pack out huge venues around the world with their record-spinning skills on tracks such as 'Miami 2 Ibiza', they've become the live scene's biggest dance concern.
