Rosalía is loved by her fans and admirers for her creative take on flamenco music. She has won praise from best-selling artists like Pharrell, James Blake and J Balvin – and we all know it isn’t easy getting high praise from chart-toppers. After enrolling at the Superior School of Music of Catalonia she was taught by Chiqui de La Línea, a teacher so selective he only accepted one student per year. She had decided music was her path at the age of 13, and so joined the Superior School of Music for the best education possible. She was actually first introduced to music by her father, a story familiar to many musicians. Rosalía began to sing with her father when she was just seven years old and found she had already answered the question "What do you want to be when you grow up?" It was always music for Rosalía. An emerging star
Her first album, "Los Angéles" (2017), was a set of reworked flamenco classics, a fairly well-trodden path for new musicians trying to find their sound. Completed with Raül Refree, who produced and played music on the album, AllMusic’s Mariano Prunes said the album "signals the appearance of a major talent in both the flamenco and world music scene".
