Peter Rabbit Tales has brought together three of everyone's favourite stories from the Peter Rabbit world that Beatrix Potter so lovingly created. It gives each one a little twist, as seen through the memories of the now grown-up children. Adapted from the books by the Enchantment Theatre Company in Philadelphia, the show incorporates music, puppetry and pantomime. The show wonderfully adapts the three Peter Rabbit stories so that they're refreshed without losing everything that is so familiar about them. You'll get to see the original first, "The Tale of Peter Rabbit", which has been segued by the show's creators into "The Tale of Mr Tod" and "The Tale of Benjamin Bunny". All the characters from these stories have been faithfully recreated, whether by human actors or puppets, with the exception of the three human adults, Peter, Benjamin and Flopsy. A new overarching story has also been woven, as these three go on another adventure and have to deal with Tommy Brock, the wily badger. A meticulous recreation of Peter Rabbit's world

Ask any kid who's been to see this Peter Rabbit production and you'll learn that the real stars of the show are the enormous puppets. While the pantomime actors put in engaging performances, it's these huge characters – each requiring three people to handle – that steal the attention. Intense effort has gone into recreating the look of each one, to remain as faithful as possible to the original book drawings. Beatrix Potter's original drawings were reproduced in watercolour and then used to create the costumes. The same is true of the stage sets. Potter's paintings were digitally scanned and then printed on fabric to hang as backdrops. This effect instantly transports the audience into the pages of the book – it's a masterstroke. Indeed the production company has developed a very good reputation for the craftsmanship of their theatre staging and has always specialised in shows that provide scope for elaborate costumes, with productions like Schéhérazade and live symphonic performances of the Mother Goose fairy tales.
