The Home of Cricket

Founded by cricketing pioneer Thomas Lord, the stadium has existed in its current location since 1814. Lord's Cricket Ground staged the inaugural first-class match, which was hosted by Thomas Lord and his Marylebone Cricket Club. Lord's Cricket Ground has staged a number of the most famous matches of all time, with names such as Don Bradman, Brian Lara, Sachin Tendulkar and Ian Botham etched on the Honours Board. In a performance that will live long in the memories of those in attendance, Graham Gooch scored a mammoth 333 runs during a 1990 Test against India Cricket. The ground hosted its first ever international match as part of the 1884 Ashes series, with the England Cricket team triumphing by 4 wickets against the Australia Cricket side. In 1999, Lord's Cricket Ground staged the Final of the World Cup, with a sold-out attendance of 30,000 packing in to see Australia face Pakistan Cricket.
