Kelowna Rockets are a Canadian junior ice hockey team that places in the Western Division of the Canadian Premier Junior Ice Hockey League. They are based in British Columbia, and have been competing since the early 1990s. They've been championship contenders over many years and have won both the Memorial Cup and their Division Title. So if you're in the mood for some top-notch junior professional ice hockey, then it's a simple matter to buy or sell Kelowna Rockets tickets on StubHub.
Two stellar first seasons as a Canadian hockey team
The Kelowna Rockets moved to their Canadian home city in 1995, having originally started out in the State of Washington in the US as the Tacoma Rockets. A short relocation across the border, a new strip, and a new team mascot—the mythical monster of Okanagan Lake, Ogopogo—and the team was set to do battle in the Western League afresh. They acquitted themselves pretty decently to begin with, to say the least. They fairly exploded into their first season, finishing with the highest average per game at the time, and the following year they broke the then league record for the most games won on the trot, an astounding twenty four in a row. In the process, they developed a fierce rivalry with another team from their previous home, the Seattle Thunderbirds. They play their home games at the Prospera Place, and this is the best venue to check first when you're looking to buy Kelowna Rockets tickets and get yourself in on some junior ice hockey action.
A temperament for championship matches
Kelowna Rockets have established themselves as a constant threat in their league and have become one of the most challenging teams to beat over the years, especially when it comes time for the playoffs. They've always possessed big match temperament in spades, and you only have to look at their Division Championship and Memorial Cup finals history to realise this. They've won the former more than three times in the 2000s, and although their cup success hasn't been as regular, they reached the finals at least three times in their first decade and won it outright in 2004, when they defeated the Gatineau Olympiques. They lost an intensely close-fought final in 2015 to the Oshawa Generals, which went all the way to overtime. That captures the never-say-die ethos that has always characterised this club, which explains why so many of their really big games have gone right down to the wire.
