Jalen N'Gonda was born in Maryland, United States, where his interest in music was sparked by his father's record collection. At the age of eleven, he delved into the jazz, hip-hop, soul, and classical music on those records and began to find his life's passion. N'gonda then moved to Liverpool, England, in 2014 to work on becoming a professional musician. There he added to his musical education by studying song writing at the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts. After performing at the Liverpool International Music Festival and being named one of their 'Most Ready' artists, Jalen N'Gonda jumped onto a wave of well-earned success. He started touring other festivals and working with producer Steve Levine on his first LP, Talking About Mary.
