Gavin James Biography - Hear Debut Album Bitter Pill Live
Born in Dublin and raised in a household surrounded by music, it's fair to say music runs in James's family - his great grandparents were opera singers, after all. After starting out in a rock band, the vocalist soon graduated to performing solo gigs at open mic nights in the pubs of the Irish capital's Temple Bar district. Surprisingly, this was also where the songwriter made his breakthrough, after a chance meeting and jam session with Ed Sheeran resulted in the pop superstar tweeting his discovery to 17 million followers.
James' songwriting talent started to gain renown after independently releasing 'Say Hello', which won the Meteor Choice Award for Song of The Year. However, his performance highlight so far has to be his incredible opening set for Sheeran at the 82,000-capacity Croke Park stadium, armed with only his guitar. Soon the Dubliner was snapped up by Sony and Capitol Records, and achieved fame in the US after appearing on James Corden's Late Late Show and Jimmy Kimmel Live!. With support from friends like Sam Smith and Ed Sheeran, the future looks bright for this talented music-maker - so grab your Gavin James tickets now while you still can.
