Founded in the Italian region of Brixen, South Tyrol in 2001, the core Frei.Wild line-up consists of lead vocalist Philipp Burger, guitarist Jonas Notdurfter, bassist Jochen Gargitter, and drummer Christian Fohrer. Inspired by both fellow German-language hard rock outfits Rammstein, Die Toten Hosen, and Böhse Onkelz and their proud national heritage, the politically-conscious group released their debut album, 'Eines Tages', in 2002 and followed it up a year later with 'Wo die Sonne wieder lacht'. Frei.Wild soon became one of the leading purveyors of the Deutschrock sound, peaking at No.2 on the German album charts with both 2010's 'Gegengift' and 2012's 'Feinde deiner Feinde'. They eventually made it all the way to number one in 2013 with a gold edition of the latter and then again that same year with the acoustic LP, 'Still'. In 2016, the quartet picked up Best National Rock/Alternative Group at the ECHO Awards and added to their back catalogue in 2018 with both a live and a studio version of 'Rivalen und Rebellen'. Provocative lyrics, pounding rhythms, propulsive riffs

With no less than a dozen studio albums to choose from, Frei.Wild certainly aren't short of material when it comes to their live shows. And the band ensure that fans of each era leave the venue satisfied by covering everything from their 2002 debut 'Eines Tages' right up to their latest release. 'Das Land der Vollidioten', 'Sieger stehen da auf, wo Verlierer liegen bleiben', and 'Sie hat dir nen Arschtritt gegeben' are particular setlist favourites. But the band aren't averse to throwing in the odd surprise either, whether it's a medley of early classics or a cover version of Austropop band S.T.S.'s 'Fürstenfeld'.
