From the Edinburgh Fringe to Mock the Week

Born in Southwest London in 1986, Ed Gamble studied at Durham University before pursuing a career in comedy. He first began working with fellow funnyman Ray Peacock on a series of podcasts and radio programmes and at various Edinburgh Fringe Festival shows before going solo. Critical acclaim for his Fringe sets "Gambletron 5000", "Lawman" and "Stampede" led to regular appearances on various British panel comedy shows including "Mock the Week" and "Sweat the Small Stuff". In 2015 he starred alongside Amy Hoggart as a pair of aristocrat siblings who tour the United States in the BBC America parody documentary series, "Almost Royal". Gamble also served as co-writer on both of its two seasons and "Man Down", the E4 sitcom in which he played a weather man. He went on to guest host John Robins and Elis James' Radio X show, appear on spin-off "The Apprentice: You're Fired" and star in the first episode of BBC2's "I'll Get This". A relatively clean observational comedian

Just like Peter Kay, Jason Manford and Michael McIntyre, Ed Gamble is a relatively clean comedian whose intention is to make as many people laugh as possible. Utilising his likeable, boy-next-door persona and natural observation skills, the stand-up largely deals with the lighter side of life, from the ridiculous emails his dad sends to his cat's vet to his experiences at a JCB-themed adventure park with his girlfriend. He also isn't afraid to have fun with the audience either, dealing with hecklers in a good-natured, quick-witted manner, and taking potshots at those who don't quite fit his manchild world view. He also enjoys sharing his internal monologues throughout his routine, regularly addressing the audience's response to his jokes. Although Gamble is a keen heavy metal enthusiast, he's previously finished his sets by dressing up as Big Daddy Gamble, his hip-hop alter ego whose 'Pancreas? What Pancreas' catchphrase pokes fun at the stand-up's real-life struggle with diabetes.
