Dallas Rattlers Info
First-year head coach Bill Warder and the Rattlers made themselves right at home in their new digs in 2018, posting an impressive 11-3 campaign that saw them vie for the MLL title. However, the team fell just short in the MLL Championships Game, 16-12, as the Denver Outlaws walked away with their third Steinfeld Cup. Dallas added 10 players in the 2019 Supplemental Draft, and subsequently signed five undrafted free agents. The transactions bring six midfielders, four defensemen, three goalies, one faceoff specialist and an attackman to the roster, which welcomes back veteran leaders like midfielder Ryan McNamara and attackman Zack Greer.
Dallas Rattlers History
The Rattlers were National Division champions in 2004, and made the playoffs in 2001 and 2005 as a wildcard. But their one and only Steinfeld Cup victory came in 2008. That year, the team defeated the Philadelphia Barrage in the semifinals, 16-15, in overtime, before downing the Denver Outlaws, 16-6, in the championship game. The Rattlers’ 27-26 OT win over Denver in 2007 remains the highest scoring game in MLL history.
Dallas Rattlers Home: Ford Center at The Star
Widely known as the practice facility of the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys, Ford Center at The Star doubles as the home of MLL’s Dallas Rattlers. The 12,000-seat indoor stadium features a synthetic turf that can be converted into a regulation soccer field. The state-of-the-art facility played host to the 2017 MLL Championships Game matchup between the Ohio Machine and Denver Outlaws.
