Coming Clean Tickets
Coming Clean is a theatrical masterpiece
Funny, razor-sharp, and deeply thought provoking, Coming Clean is essential viewing for anyone who has ever been in a relationship. The award-winning play by Kevin Elyot is still just as fresh and relevant as it was when it was first staged in 1982. Theatre fans are sure to enjoy this carefully observed study of sex, love, and notions of fidelity - your Coming Clean tickets are available now to buy or sell on StubHub.
A moving look at complex relationships
Written by Kevin Elyot, Coming Clean was a ground-breaking play when it was first performed in 1982. Originally titled 'Cosy' (the opera 'Cosi fan tutte' plays an important part in the script), it was first performed under its new title at the Bush Theatre in London and received rave reviews from the critics as an important and intelligently written piece of work. Actually Kevin Elyot's first attempt at writing a professionally produced play, Coming Clean follows two central characters, Tony and Greg, who are in a committed relationship. They are proud of having figured out a sort of 'sexual contract', whereby they are each allowed to engage in one-night stands - provided these don't endanger their relationship and they never sleep with the same man twice. But as Tony falls deeper into their relationship, starting to think about broaching the subject of monogamy, he is appalled to discover that Greg has been having a regular affair with their beautiful cleaner, Robert. Cue plenty of soul-searching, questions about interpretations of fidelity, and a gripping battle between intimate love and sexual attraction. Coming Clean tickets will see you laugh, cry, open-mouthed in shock, and deeply moved by the time the curtain falls.
Experience a revival of iconic play Coming Clean
After a highly successful 2017 run at the King's Head, Coming Clean was re-booked to appear in the Trafalgar Studios - another highly regarded London venue. Due to the content of the play (which features scenes of full-frontal nudity and a lot of sexual description) it is worth noting that there is an age guidance policy in place. Provided you're over 16, however, you will appreciate the astute wit and intelligent depths of this timely and relevant play: Coming Clean stands alongside works like My Night with Reg, Blowing Whistles, The Normal Heart, Bent, and Certain Young Men in the small but growing canon of gay theatre pieces as one of the most important and still-relevant productions. With its biting humour and far-reaching themes, you'll find yourself looking at relationships - gay or straight - and our preconceived ideas about love and fidelity in a whole new light. Be prepared for an emotional and thought-provoking experience with tickets to Coming Clean, now available to purchase or sell on StubHub.
