Billy Talent - Alternative Rockers Announce 2016 UK Tour

Four years after the release of Dead Silence, these Canadian punk rockers announced the arrival of fifth studio album Afraid of Heights in 2016, as well as an extensive UK tour. With new drummer Jordan Hastings from Alexisonfire stepping in for the shows, the band have offered up a sneak preview for fans by dropping the title track and 'Louder Than The DJ' as singles ahead of the full record release. This alt-rock five piece have been dominating the ska punk scene since the early '00s and show no signs of slowing down. Billy Talent Biography - Fifth Album Afraid of Heights Set for Release

These alt-rockers spent almost a decade in Toronto's underground indie music scene after first coming together during a high school talent contest, but the turn of the millennium brought professional success. Benjamin Kowalewicz, Ian D'Sa, Jonathan Gallant and Aaron Solowoniuk started performing under their current moniker, then a connection with an A&R executive landed them a signing with Atlantic Records and Warner Music. Their eponymous debut album found considerable success following the popularity of their first official single 'Try Honesty' and led to sold-out tours across the US and Canada. Sophomore effort - similarly self-titled - proved another roaring success, shooting to the top of the Canadian charts and catching the attention of UK fans.

The following years saw Billy Talent III and Dead Silence released, as well as triumphant appearances at festivals including Coachella, Download, Reading, Leeds and Soundwave. A short break from recording was interrupted by a greatest hits album in 2014, which featured the brand new song 'Kingdom of Zod'. Now four years on from their last official release, they're back with new album Afraid of Heights and a tour that will see them perform across Canada, the US and Europe - with a number of dates in the UK of course.
