One of the most hotly anticipated events of the summer calendar, Belfast's Belsonic concert series sees the biggest names in the music industry flock to the Northern Irish capital for a two-week run. Now in its tenth year, the festival has undergone a huge expansion in recent years as brilliant live performances from a vast array of musical talent has helped draw in fans from all over the UK.
Much to the delight of fans, Liam Gallagher has been confirmed as this year's first headline act. The former Oasis frontman will play on Saturday 16 June with further dates and artists to be confirmed soon – so make sure you watch this space for more announcements!

Belsonic 2018: festival upsizes to meet growing demand for tickets
First starting in 2008 at Customs House in the heart of Belfast, Belsonic has been welcoming a host of huge names to the city for almost a decade. With the likes of Kasabian, Stereophonics, Jake Bugg and Paloma Faith all headlining the festival down the years, it's no surprise that the event has grown exponentially in popularity.
To cope with demand, Belsonic has expanded from a three day event in 2008 to hosting concerts across seven days in more recent years. In 2016, Belsonic moved to the Titanic Belfast – the slipways where the ill-fated passenger liner was built and touched water for the first time in 1911 – to accommodate more fans.
The move proved shortlived though, with demand for 2017 tickets forcing festival organisers to once again search for a larger outdoor plot. Ormeau Park, Belfast's oldest (and one of its most scenic parks) was chosen, allowing for an increased capacity of 5,000 fans as Arcade Fire, The 1975, Jess Glynne and The Chainsmokers headlined in 2017.
