In the 1970s, Palmer was the winning pitcher in 186 games. This was the most wins in a decade from any MLB pitcher. He was also known for his nickname, Cakes, which arose because he would eat pancakes for breakfast before pitching! Cal Ripken Jr. was twice named MVP in the American League, as well as winning two Gold Glove Awards. He played 21 seasons in MLB for the Baltimore Orioles.
